Next Show in Philly

The next show is at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly with Buddy Leezle and Rock On.  It’s called the Lo Sho and for those who don’t know about Lo Heads or Lo Lifes they are basically Polo fanatics.  They will pay $325 for a 17 year old Polo Sport collar shirt.  They collect anything that’s Polo and usually have a ridiculous amount of Ralph Lauren in their closet.  They can tell you what year and season a particular polo shirt was released and they are also rumored to be notorious shop lifters in the Polo section of department stores.  It is definitely interesting to see their passion for all that is Lo.  I’m sure you can meet a bunch at this show.

More Adventures in Philly

The last show I did in Philly at Kung Fu Necktie for Yikes the Zero’s album release.  Props to PKG, Yikes, Tommy Tucker, Distant Starr, Buddy Leezle, Browsky, KFN and everybody else involved with this show.

You never know who’s reading

Props to The Deli for supporting my homie Yikes and quoting things I say on this blog.  Their write up was about the show I did with Yikes and Tommy Tucker last Friday at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly.  The show was a success for Philly hip hop heads and a few converters who just like to act silly with us.  It’s okay if you don’t know who Gang Starr is.  We are only slightly judgmental.

YIKES the ZERO Release Show at KFN July 27

With hazy beats, mesh of samples, and laid-back, yet almost-sinister flow, local emcee YIKES the ZERO sounds primed to take up Madvillain’s mantle as “America’s Most Blunted.” Tonight, his new album, A Kid And His Monsters, gets a much-deserved release party at Kung Fu Necktie. Released via Bandcamp just a couple weeks ago, A Kid And His Monsters is absolutely filthy, a stellar example of abstract, sample-heavy indie hip hop, and a great record that’s sure to translate live. Still not convinced? Opener E.Grizzly has described YIKES the ZERO and fellow performer Tommy Tucker as “nerd rap” on his personal blog because “all these dudes would be unstoppable in a hip-hop Trivial Pursuit tournament.” Philly underground hip hop continues to rise this evening so don’t miss out! Next Show in Philly

This is the next show I’m a part of which is Yikes album release party at Kung Fu Necktie in Philadelphia.  If you don’t know Yikes, he’s a dope MC and even doper producer.  If you don’t know Kung Fu Necktie, it’s a dope venue with an even doper name.  Tommy Tucker AKA the Dago Deacon AKA the coolest guy in West Philly is performing too. He also has alot to say on the mic.  It will be serious hip hop shit.  I might even call it nerd rap because all these dudes would be unstoppable in a hip hop Trivial Pursuit tournament.  If you’re in the Philly area July 27th come through.
